I daresay this is the best restaurant in SF. The staff make you feel like family at every turn. You must try: octapodaki, arnisia plevrakia, moussaka, souvlaki, rizogalo. NB make a reservation!
From the museum’s copper-clad torqued tower, you can see the Transamerica Pyramid, Sutro Tower, and the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. The tower’s café serves food sourced within a 150-mile radius.
Place too clean, service too nice, prices too high, clientele too fancy to be called "authentic" but it is so good. Xiao long bao (Shanghai dumplings) = heaven. Better make a res on weekends...

Egg custard tarts that are almost as good as the ones in Hong Kong. Short of hopping a flight there, this is the place to get them.
A secret revealed: I buy tarts (frangipane and tropizienne) for Thanksgiving here. I've been to other La Boulange outposts but Pine St does it best. The baguettes and morning pastries are great too.
