Brainchild of former Morimoto chefs, the cash-only joint offers 4 types of ramen (miso, soy, veggie, and kimchi), plus a weekly special. There’s no way to go wrong, but the kimchi ramen can’t be beat.
Best croissants aux Amandes in NYC. All other pastries are great too as is the bread. Lunch sandwiches rule as does the spicy hummus.
Monday's 3-course menu here is a big hit. Its famed fried chicken with cheddar waffles is the star of the meal. $25 per person.

Although laptop seating is limited, this is a good spot in the area to work later in the evening since they're open until 9pm. Pretty good Stumptown, free wifi, plugs along the wall, and food.

It's the perfect upscale but not stuffy date dinner. Menu often changes, but we loved the lamb porchetta, carrot crepes, trout, and chawanmushi. Tasty cocktails, too; enjoy them in the big backyard.

Never heard bad music at this bar, always danceable but not your typical pop. Bartenders are cute & crowd are hipsters, young professionals, neighborhood folks, & the random celebrity every so often.
Simple, fresh, delicious food at a reasonable price, served in a cozy setting. Feels like a home cooked meal with all the neighbours. If I lived here this would definitely be a fave.
Sit at the chef's counter for brunch if you can. Small menu, but pretty reliable for both food and cocktails. Brussels sprouts (when in season) and sticky date cake are great.
Dinner here is absolutely out of this world. Wonderfully curated dishes that complement one another. You have to surrender to the experience - order lots of dishes to share. One of my favorite spots.
