Eater7月 18, 2017Peter Luger may reign as the best steakhouse in Brooklyn, but the more intimate St. Anselm holds its own with pitch-perfect steaks and a menu where nearly everything touches the grill.
The butchers steak is probably the best value steak I've ever had. Truffle oil mashed potatoes are.. well... truffle oil mashed potatoes. Amazing!

Hip, happening, delicious, St Anselm can be loud, and wait times can run to 3 hours, but it's worth it for their simple meat cuts and interesting vegetable dishes. Over-salting can be an issue.

- Hanger steak if you’re sharing between two. Tomahawk for a larger group. Upside down pineapple cake for dessert. Reso recommended, otherwise you won’t be seated until 11pm.

Butcher steak, spinach, potatoes gratin, Diver scallops , radishes and all the deserts.hard to go wrong
Totally worth the hyper and the wait. The $18 butcher steak is the best deal in town. Sit out back with a beer and they will let you bring it in the back door when your table is ready.
S10月 31, 2017The Butchers Steak was as amazing as the grilled fennel. We really enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. Try the Pot de Creme as dessert (salty caramel!).

The veal flank steak is served with chimichurri.

Even when this place is jammed packed on Friday or Saturday, they sometimes can squeeze one or two people in at the bar or chefs' counter. It's worth poking your head in if you are in the area.
This place is so badass. From the food to the wine to the service - and for a totally reasonable price. Diver Scallops, Grilled Halloumi, and BUTCHERS STEAK FTW!

Splurge a little and get the axe handle ribeye. Pair it with a Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA (they have it on tap). Doesn't get any better than that.
