Carl Griffin: Beautiful neoclassical building containing a great collection of historical exhibits relating to the Carpathian basin from prehistoric to modern times.
Carl Griffin: Interesting exhibits into the terror caused by fascist and stalinist regimes. The building is the former secret police HQ where a lot of the interrogation and torture took place.
Carl Griffin: Former called Roosevelt ter in 1947, now renamed to honour the statesman and developer of the chain bridge. Interesting statues on all sides of the square.
Carl Griffin: Destroyed a rebuilt many times over the centuries. Huge impressive palace towering high on the Buda side of the river and dominating the Budapest skyline.
Carl Griffin: The world's largest synagogue outside of New York. Has both Romantic and Moorish architectural elements. Contains a holocaust memorial room relating to the events of 1944-45.
Carl Griffin: Amazing collection of communist period statues with Lenin, Marx and Bela Kun. Worth the effort of travelling by bus away from the city centre.
