The Ferry Building is very popular, and I recommend it to anyone who is visiting San Francisco. They've got great restaurants (Slanted Door, MarketBar) and a morning farmer's market a few times a week
Dog friendly sandy beach, playground and the Warming Hut for snacks and well… warming up.
This place is EPIC! You feel as if you are in Europe, strolling through a quite park. The Exploratorium is right beside it and I would recommend making time for both if you are in the area.

Go to Taqueria Cancun. Get any super burrito. Expect to only eat a half of it as it's filled to the gills with beans and meat and rice and avocado. (ridiculously worth it, tho.)
The only acceptable greasy hangover food spot in the hood. Hold out as long as you can to avoid all the hipsters. Everything's good!

Should you want to see one of the most crowded but beautiful areas of the city. Probably only park w/o a radiant view hovering above the city around it, it's actually a low-set 1, but views nearby.
