After leaving the train go the e-passport checking row it might be faster than the regular ID control.
The departure check in is horrendous. Forget the sign pay give pounds for express check in and breeze right through the line of staff

This place looks like a post-apocalyptic refugee centre with absolutely no place to sit or sleep, poor restaurant choices and no sockets or wi-fi for public!Beware the gates of RyanAir hell lay here!
The security people are really into the liquids-inda-plastic-bag thing so if you forgot your toothpaste in your suitcase prepare to waste 20'.

Over crowded airport. The ladies toilet is misplaced right next to arrival, it is dirty and not modern. Not suitable for elderly people or people with temper. Uncomfortable benches.
One day Stansted will be an airport of the 1st world and we will have a way to keep in transit inside Schengen space!!

Arrivals: UK border checks take forever and it is always packed. Add at least 30 mins to your journey to take this into account.

Airport is extremly overloaded. All the time. Queues are everywhere included toilets. You should be very patience
Gillian Hastings7月 24, 2011Arrive at least 30 mins ahead of what you think you need. Security unbelievably slow. BAA duty free shops must suffer as a result. You would think management would deal with this passenger experience!- If the queues at security are are scarily long, there's a queue-jumping fasttrack option which costs £5.

Julia Garcia Prieto9月 15, 2013Security is more strict than in any other airport I have ever been (liquids, shoes, computers and what not) and it takes forever to go through so make sure you arrive in time!
Although a certain airline doesn't make it very clear, check "which" Düsseldorf you're flying to. Air Berlin does the main one. The other airline doesn't and also flys at -+ the same time! Careful!!

Debbie Pinto6月 1, 2013I have never seen such a mess. It took me 40 min to go to the security because the queues are so badly organised. If you have a chance to choose another place to your outbound flight, do it!
DON'T fly into Stansted on a late Sunday flight. The customs queue is guaranteed to be longer than your European flight (esp if you're non-Eu/UK)

Eric Feldman10月 7, 2017Come at least 3 hours before your flight. Took me 40 minutes to have a boarding pass, 15 minutes wating for my bag after passing him at the clearence machine and about 20 minutes running to my gate
