In 1903 Vermont Ave. was a crude dirt road. There were three farmhouses scattered in the hills north of Los Feliz Blvd. The flatter land between Los Feliz Blvd. and Franklin Ave. remained undeveloped.
Rancho Los Feliz was officially recorded in 1843. It goes South from Travel Town to Western and Fountain Avenues, then West to the Los Angeles River, then follows the river North back to Travel Town.
