Cool to check out. Not so much of a hike but more wandering around various holes in the rock. Trails can be overgrown.

Surprisingly good Mexican restaurant in the Theater District. Nice for snacks and a strong margarita before seeing questionable theater.
Good pizza to take away. A little odd that the toppings are under the cheese but still tasty. Gets really crowded.
Beautiful place to hike the wide trail to the top especially in spring when all the valleys are green. Can be really windy and look out for snakes as it gets warmer.
The palm oasis burned last year, but still a nice family friendly walk. Best of all you may see big horn sheep, they sometimes gather to drink by the trailhead. Such a cool sight if you luck out.
Awesome little organic hard cider producer. The J. Blanc and Jonasgold are really delicious and dry. The perfect stop after a day of hiking in the heat.
Great park with lots of hiking trails. Stonewall Peak has great views and is pretty easy. Gets really hot starting in April.

Wonderful old cottage that used to be the writer’s retreat of Scott O’Dell. So quiet and teaming with wildlife (rabbits, birds, turkeys, deer) and flowers in spring. Simple pastoral beauty abounds.
Huge state park with so many areas to explore. You’ll have more fun with a high clearance 4W drive vehicle.
