HISTORY4月 19, 2010The zoo opened in 1889 whenbusinessman George V. Gress purchased a bankrupt traveling circus & donated the animals to Atlanta. In 1999 the zoo joined only 2 other zoos in housing giant pandas.
The season pass is worth every penny! It costs less than two trips, and allows you to make short visits without feeling guilty about not seeing everything every time.

Scoutmob11月 29, 2011When the city's outdated zoo was named one of the country's 10 worst in the 80s, Willie B. came to the rescue and stole our hearts. In 2000, more than 8,000 mourners joined for a tearful memorial.
Go at 4pm on the weekend & you still have til 6:30p to enjoy the zoo with no crowds.
