These guys make a mean old fashioned cocktail with the cherries that were once dried and reconstituted in alcohol. Also the duck confit pancakes were absolutely delicious. Chill by the pool and tan.

The Getty Center in Brentwood has an impressive collection of works from as early as before the 20th century. You'll find Van Gogh's Irises here, and also don't miss the huge Central Garden. Free.
The museum is free EVERY DAY. You only pay for parking. Take a bus, and the entire day at the Getty is free.

With a collection including works by Gustav Klimt, Auguste Rodin, & Man Ray,plus a revolving roster of exhibitions, breaking for refreshments is a must: The on-site restaurant and cafes are a godsend.
Avoid going to the Getty during the weekend. Best time to visit is from Tuesday to Thursday. The museum is closed on Monday. The Central Garden is closed until mid-May.
Saturdays after five are awesome! Free parking, you don't have to pay the $15! Stays open till night and make sure to bring a camera. Be sure to see the outdoor stuff first if you go after 5.

The garden was extremely relaxing. Set up reservations if you want to eat at the restaurant otherwise go to larger cafe below it for a nice meal.
Take he architecture tour. It's free and takes about 45min. You will learn so many things that will make you appreciate the Getty Center even more!

Music is a bit strange for a bar but its one of my favorite rooftop spots in DTLA. Only the full bar inside serves the real cocktails. Head to the outside bars for anything else.
Selfpark across the street for $6 and you don't have to worry for the whole night. Great rooftop bar. Try to get there 10:30 for a 'shorter' line.

Don't miss the view from the 16th floor! There's a bar up there too, so don't worry about getting a drink first before heading upstairs.

A touristy spot but I still love the Grove for the relaxed shopping atmosphere, tacos & aguas frescos at La Lotería in Farmers Mkt, & the star-sightings. Also, I get my parking validated in the Mkt.
Classic LA rooftop action includes a pool with private cabanas, a hip bar and views of the Hollywood Hills.

Park on the small parking lot behind the hotel (across the street from the Japanese supermarket). It's $13 per day w/ in and out privelege VS $30 for hotel parking.
PARKING is expensive in the hotel, however just one block away you can park in LITTLE TOKYO MALL which is very fairly priced and convenient.

There are TWO lines for ordering. The shorter one is usually on the right (closer to the soda fountain) and snakes back towards the fresh fish counter. Also, they now take Visa and MasterCard.
Solid wine selection along with bottles of Stella if you'd prefer a beer. Located on the Hill St. side of Grand Central market. Tried the oysters, tuna poke and shrimp cocktail, was very impressed.
Quite possibly the tastiest torta I've eaten yet. Al Pastor piled high with lettuce, tomato and spicy salsa makes for a solid sandwich at $7.00
Be sure to check out the daily special & eat at the counter, as its open kitchen is a delight to observe. Menu favorites include Hanin Chicken over garlic rice, Thai sausage and Thai BBQ chicken.
Best eggs and sandwiches in LA!! My personal favorites are the nita, Avo burger, skirt steak and eggs, the Fairfax and the slut!!!!
Wait time is not worth it. Only item which makes it a bit special is the "Slut". The other sandwiches are okay and do not warrant the long waiting time.
