The hidden downstairs cocktail bar thing is a little passe these days, but Philly manages to keep even this unpretentious and fun. Tell them what you like & they'll make something wonderful.
Not just for brunch, but they do it extraordinarily well. It's a bit of a scene and given the crowd, I always expect the staff to be snotty, but I've never gotten anything less than stellar service.
Marc Vetri's affordable dinner spot. Love it. Took a break after stopping by on every trip. Time for a return visit. Be sure to sit at the kitchen counter to see the action.
The original Northern Liberties gastropub. Steampunk decor throughout a big old house. Multiple dining rooms. Great for brunch on the upstairs patio. Beer for days. Always an interesting menu.
I love hanging out here on a sunny weekend. They've tried a few Brooklyn-ish things from flea markets to a farmers market to concerts and events. Not sure what's stuck, but it's worth stopping by.

We got a good Hotwire deal to stay here once. Really nice old hotel. Even if you aren't staying there, go to the bar on the top floor. Swanky, with a great view.

Hard to get to without a car, but they serve the definitive Roast Pork. Get with raab and sharp provolone if you can take the bitterness.
