If you're around Cannon Beach, you should venture down this way during low tide. It's a little tucked away, but it's fun to explore the cave and small waterfall.
Great secluded beach, just be careful not to wander into the parts of it that are private unless you are staying at the places that have those parts of the beach available.
Head down the road towards Bay City about three miles to the Tillamook country smoker for fantastic beef stick, jerky and 2 ft long pepperoni. Cheaper than the cheese factory by nearly half!!!
if you want ice cream (you should) -- go upstairs to the observation area. MUCH shorter line.

Short Sands Beach at Oswald West State Park. Local surf spot. Nice walk along a creek from the parking lot to the beach. Rest rooms with running water at both parking lot and at beach.
Sunset on this beautiful beach that is never crowded and watching the moon rise with the added warmth of a bonfire…a most perfect evening!

Clean, friendly, central location, just a great hotel. Compared to a few non Portland hotels. This was Amazing and the others were icky. The stars ratings didn't reflect that difference. Lounge +
I highly recommend ordering the BBQ Chicken considering I order it twice a week, and the Staff could not be any nicer. Go Ohana!!!
You have to try the beef enchilada I suggest ala carte so you can also order the nachos, house salad and if you can squeeze in a taco. make sure you get the peppermint ice cream.
