Crate Lager is the standout brew, and having sampled every one of their pizzas, you simply can't go wrong with any of them.
Excellent drinks on tap and in bottles/cans, as you might expect. The building itself is impressive and they sometimes have craft fairs on etc. that are well worth a visit.
Lots of very tasty and fresh beer here. If you go on a tour, you get to learn lots about the beer and sample as much if it as you like!

What a great museum! The wildlife section on the first floor is really interesting. I loved the Egyptian section, not very big but what they do have is very good. And the massive T.Rex is amazing.
This is an amazing interactive museum that stimulates all the senses. The cafe is amazing. It’s an especially good choice for a rainy day.
One of the best zoos in the U.K., plenty of variety for everyone and very educational as well!

Good variety of shops, and mostly chain restaurants. Great Odeon with Imax. Chavasse park is all right for sitting and chatting particularly in summer. Open and nice to walk around.

The celeriac fritters with garlic and truffle aioli were amazing as part of the tapas. Waiters were charming, funny and efficient. The peanut butter ice cream was exceptional!

One of the more welcoming shops/tasting rooms on the island, with an impressive range of different varieties, and even a gin!
One of the few places in Europe where you can buy the single malt. If you have friends of the classic malts passport the tour and tastings are free of charge.
The distillery tour is fantastic, as are the limited edition bottles on sale in the shop (usually visitor centre exclusives). Book yourself in for a tasting of the full range.
The welsh cake ice cream is excellent but if you if your even a slight fan of Turkish (I don't mean kebab ) joes is a delight. Recommended

Great range of BrewDog beers on keg, a few guest beers too. Fantastic pizzas, especially the halloumi one. Take out beers too, merchandise, free to play pool table.
One of our favourite places to go. Minutes from the city centre. Beautiful building, outside seats and family friendly. Local brewery making fantastic beers, hickey the rake and jakehead are a must.

Waterfalls in the middle of Newcastle. Such a lovely place to visit for a stroll. The cafe serves a good coffee. Theres usually an ice cream van too. If you have kids, try taking them to pets corner!

Last Friday of the month is Saltaire Brewery Beer Club - a mini beer festival where they open the doors to the public. Good beers in a great location. Get there early though as it gets pretty busy.
