- Wassel M1月 15, 2018BRING A CAMERA! The view is the real treat. U will also get to see the disparity between the life of a slave and a slave owner. don’t expect to get a lot of info from the tour tho, it feels scripted
- Tanya Williams4月 7, 2014It's cute that the people giving the tours are dressed up. The mansion is nice inside but the real treat is the view of the Oak trees leading to the house. You can drive around and see that for free.
- As a local I'm here often. I'm known by a few of the tour guides. Needless to say I love the history. The tour and the grounds. I can never have enough pics of the grounds. Aim for the interesting!
- Renee T8月 28, 2015Don't do an all day tour - it gets repetitive. A ways out of town you ride in a van to get there. Just do one or two of the big plantations and you'll get the history and it will be super cool.
- Colin Lee1月 4, 2016Oak valley trees are very lovely. Place for very nice pictures. The Tours are packed one after the other, so it feels rushed. it also feels more scripted than the tours at Laura plantation
- Rick Doesburg8月 28, 2016Very nice tour with employees dressed in classic attire. Very friendly and genuinely care about the history of the place. Entry is around $20.
- Jason H.4月 2, 2019Beautiful grounds to take pictures in and interesting history. The tour guide sounds incredibly scripted - and is not the greatest actor so.... the tour part is a little painful
- Zachary Ottinger8月 1, 2013Gorgeous and worth the trip! If they didn't talk about slavery before, they certainly do now. In fact, our guide reiterated the fact that this entire place was built on the back of slaves many times.
- Jo Frei8月 18, 2017Stunning place but wear bug repellant!! Stayed in one of the cottages and we were thrilled but we got bitten to hell by mosquitos when walking around the grounds. Food was exceptional.
- UMDAlumniAssociation3月 14, 2014Day 3 of Antebellum South: Touring the historic plantation and its beautiful grounds under the natural wonder of 300-year-old oak trees while learning about the history of this Southern estate.
- Stephen H11月 4, 2014Do the tour as it's fascinating. Nice to see them highlight the human cost of the slavery used to build the plantation in the exhibits, rather than just brush it aside.
- Alana Cadiz12月 7, 2014Really good tour. And really good mint julep, post-tour. Can't wait to come back
- Denette9月 28, 2015This is a sweeping gone with the wind style plantation. Gorgeous trees and grounds. Quarters where they kept slaves and the history.
- JAbbs5月 7, 2014Friendly staff, great tour, a lot of history, a BEAUTIFUL location. Spend a few hours here, it's fantastic.
- Jason 😜Izzy🎶 Sherry5月 7, 2018Worth a day trip out to this to see a great plantation with people in period dress and tours
- Lea H5月 18, 2018Beautiful so beautiful. Great tour. Don't just tour the house make sure to check out the slave quarters. AAA discount.
- Gary Dauphin9月 2, 2012Oak Alley Plantation is now open! Power is restored, the grounds are cleaned up, and Oak Alley Plantation is 100% open for fun! Beginning Monday, we open for our regular business hours, 9am to 5pm.
- Gary Dauphin11月 6, 2012Recommend that if you come by car, try to arrive early. Hours between 9am to 10:30am are peaceful, with only a modest number of visitors, often by yourself.
- Trina Beana1月 27, 2014Believed to be haunted by Louise Roman the daughter of the man who had the home built in the 1830's. She is dressed all in black and can be seen in the master bedroom or the widow's walk.
- Anne Meraz10月 27, 2018Beautiful place. Went on a tour and not enough time spent there. Need about 2 hours plans some time to sit and have lunch.
- Ricardo Hernandez4月 2, 2016Best plantation-museum in the area. If you have to pick one, this is the one to visit.
- 🌺Laura Halter🌺6月 27, 2015This place is beautiful and definitely worth seeing. The tours are great and worth doing.
- Leah Weinstein7月 6, 2012Beautiful, but the tour is kind of insulting. No real history unless you are super interested in how to make feather mattresses or run dinner parties. Didn't even say the word slavery.Very sanitized.
- Constantin W4月 5, 2019Also interesting on a rainy day, although they need to figure out a way to drain the walkways!
