Another gourmet vegan restaurant/bar w/ all of the pretentiousness of LA. The food was not impressive at all, especially for all the hype this chef gets. And extra emphasis on "gourmet." ;-)

Café Gratitude has great vegan food. You can have the "I am Grateful," the "I am Extraordinary," or the "will.i.am." They don't have that last one. But if they did it'd be a bowl of black eyed peas.

Unlike other LA juice shops, Moon Juice is 100% organic! The Green Goddess is amazing- it's deep green color lets you know you're in for a solid punch of nutrients! Also, BEST pure almond milk around!
The rubin sandwich is honestly better than the original. I give this to meat eaters when they visit me, all of them have love it. Carrot cupcake with cream cheese frosting is really good, too.
The menu is extensive & painstakingly labeled with dietary footnotes. Corn grain bread and millet bread is available, and pizza is completely gluten and nut free.
A bit expensive, but you're paying extra for the convenience of everything being vegan. I loved the cheese and frozen fish sections. I have never seen some of those faux fishes before!
The perennial line is worth it for the food. I know it's been said a million times over but the marinated steak and mashed potatoes are absolutely amazing. LOVE!

It's pretty much as good as it sounds, Silver Lake + a farmer's market. My advice is save a few bucks to get records on your way out. You can also get thrift store gems.
