Irene M: Find the famous counter where the fish guys throw fish. They sell great oyster shooters in souvenir shot glasses. Get one. The glass will smell like fish forever reminding you of your time in Seattle.
Irene M: Place Pigalle is hidden behind Don and Joe’s Meats and Pike Place Fish. This is a classy, friendly sit-down white-tablecloth type restaurant that serves Northwesty food with a slightly French spin.
Irene M: Has a big tank of critters where you can put your hands in and touch them and a gorgeous walkway the is enclosed by glass under a tank so the creatures swim around you and overhead.
Irene M: Make a reservation. Eat a delectable Basque-influenced dinner here. Follow recommendations, ask what's good. Don't come with a large party, it's a perfect place for a date. Eat everything.
Irene M: Get the spicy. It will be the best fried chicken you've ever had. Thank God as crispy skin rains down on your garments. Get a roll to use to mop the grease from your face and then stuff in your mouth.
Irene M: My favorite espresso in NYC hands down is 9th Street Espresso. You know where the founders of 9SE learned how to pull shots? At fucking Victrola, biatch.
Irene M: The University campus is vast & beautiful. Different things flower and bloom at different times and there are many nice paths to wander. In the Spring the cherry blossoms are mind-blowingly abundant.
Irene M: The hot sausages are huge and delicious. Dieters and vegans: Piss off. There is also a big beer selection and usually lots of rowdy UW students.
Irene M: The quintessential place to skip class and eat a burger while smoking and sitting on top of your mom's car and generally being a bad ass. Good shakes too.
Irene M: Magnusun Park is home to, among other stuff, the Sound Garden. Yes, this is what the band is named for. Check the website or call for current info and visiting hours.
Irene M: Over the years this zoo has been overhauled and expanded, with lush, updated and expansive naturalistic habitats. Every animal you want to see is here.
Irene M: The savory onion tart in its flaky, delicate crust with artichoke chips on top is one of my very favorite things to eat. Just thinking about it is making me long for it.

Irene M: One of the major draws of this place is the amazing book store, where you will find Japanese books on every subject including art and manga, and imported CDs. Also, the food court has Beard Papa.
Irene M: You can get your own tatami room if you want to eat sushi in relatively authentic privacy, though there is fancier sushi to be had other places. The real draw, though, is the karaoke bar.

Irene M: Designed by Rem Koolhas. It is worthy of all the hype and locals are rightfully proud to live in a place where such projects actually happen. Bill Gates chipped in $20 million for this too.

Irene M: Catch indie movies and fun midnight shows here, it's part of the Landmark chain. I saw RHPS here, as well as Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles at midnight one time.
Irene M: The tacos or tortas al pastor are perfection - savory, simple and authentic. The burritos are large enough to feed a family of 8. Wash it down with sweet horchata.
Irene M: If you have to be in Edmonds for dinner for some reason, this place is a good bet. Solid food, capable friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere.
