Bike from Palo Alto to the park, get a drink or some food, and head back. 1 hour from Palo Alto round trip...good for kids and adults alike.
Drive down to the end of Embarcadero, turn right and park. Walk around the entire loop (about 2 miles) or just out to the duck pond and bay area. Nice birds and unique bayland ecosystem.
