Well worth a visit, lovely small distillery in lovely small town. Distillery tour covers pretty much the whole place, visiting all working areas. Got a chance to taste 10-years-old single cask!
Founded in 1794. Has a yearly capacity of 870.000 litres. One of the most visited distilleries in Scotland. The output is mostly used for the 14 yo and the Distiller's Edition. (2016)
Bottles in the shop are generally £10-20 cheaper than the retail price, so leave room in your bag. The distillery tour is interesting and gives you a £5 voucher for the shop and an £8 glass for £10.
The tour is finished with a tiny drop of 8 yo right from the cask (58,2% abv) and a dram of their 14 yo with candiedginger. The shop is stocked with single malts from some other Diageo distilleries.
A very good tour, you are taken through all the process (note the tall lamp-like stills). It is a pity you are not allowed to take pictures inside the distillery.
They did not have their Distiller's edition (finished in sherrycasks) at the moment - the gentlemen in the shop told they would bottle it by Christmas.
