板橋にあるので台北観光からは外れがちだが、建物も庭も見応えがあり、他を差し置いても訪問する価値があるスポット。附近の文昌街近辺に広がる市場のブラブラ歩きも楽しい。

Traditional garden in Taipei. Lots of trees give us a deep rest. You can spend about half a day with taking pictures and having some rest in here.

If you haven others here yet, it's definitely worth going. Amazingly well preserved 19th century mansion & gardens. You will enjoy wandering through the beautiful gardens. Must see

Great view of history in Taipei. Free to your and enjoy the grounds. Good place for photos of the old style home and gardens. Surrounding neighborhood has nice little markets to wander through.

Google said it’s open today 2/12(大年初一）but when we drove 40 minutes to get there, the place was not open at all...What a pity.

From 2015 Oct, half of the site is under renovation, so cannot visit indoor of the mansion. After this half is done, the other half will undergo renovation. Dates of completion is unknown.

板橋林本源園邸，是目前臺灣僅存最完整的園林建築。古時候的豪門富商，為了追求居住的生活享受，或是希望利用精緻的園林建築來招待官家或生意往來的巨賈，往往不惜鉅資，興建精緻優美的園林庭園。但是由於天災或戰亂，以及時代的遞移，這些中國式園林庭園現在多已殘破不堪，有的早已消失，僅存於文人筆墨或歷史紀錄之中。何其有幸的是，板橋的林本源園邸，從民國三十八年後屢遭破壞而日益傾頹，歷經多位文物專家根據考據，多次整飭修建，現在恢復了昔日的部分舊貌。板橋林本源園邸可以說是先人所遺留下來的珍貴歷史遺產，是一座認識臺灣歷史與傳統建築的寶庫。
