The pastéis (custard) are served warm & sprinkled w/powdered sugar & cinnamon. These treats are so sought after that it is illegal for any other shop to sell anything called pastéis de Belém.
Try to visit during the week to avoid busy weekends and be able to enjoy the peace and quiet in the floor in front of the main tank.
Come on Sunday before 2PM to get in for free. Make sure you make it to the roof for an awesome view and view the pipe organ from the third floor choir loft.
