Creative pies, and delicious bread (don’t skimp on the butter). It may not be as good as Lucali’s or Di Fara, but it’s the best pie west of the Hudson.
Burger is a must; add the bone marrow and a martini to complete a meat eaters delight. Great atmosphere, but not Michelin worthy.
Classic pies in a grungy setting. Great for a casual night with friends. Try to avoid the tourists by going on a weeknight.
French Onion burger was a highlight. The service and cocktails outweigh a fairly straightforward French menu. Grab the binoculars by the kitchen, and snap a Polaroid if you can.
Surprisingly excellent across the board, save room for the warm Zeppoles for dessert. Chrysanthemum Salad and Gnocchi are worth it. Try not to sit outside, it’s a chaotic street.
If you’re not getting stone crabs, go for the glazed salmon. The sauce is sweet and savory, and the fish is always fresh. Chopped salad and the tomato are classic starters.
Worthwhile burger, reminiscent of 4Charles but not as good. Great atmosphere on a sunny day, despite a slightly snooty crowd.
Best brisket in Austin. Don’t get excited about the sides or sauces, the moist brisket is the star.
Pepperoni pies are overflowing and crispy. Some of the best Detroit style around (square pan pies with crunchy crust)
Brisket Tacos were delicious, enjoy the black magic sauce paired with a large Paloma. Expect a wait after a glowing NYT review.
Of course, the burger. Great bite smothered in the peppercorn sauce. It’s a good burger, in a quirky spot, but not destination-worthy.
Creative spreads and large bagels mean long lines on Sunday mornings. Murray’s down the street is the old school, this is the new school. Both great.
