Seaport Village was built on landfill where the Spanish expedition of 1782 buried those who had died of scurvy. In later years, it served as a railroad yard to send items east that arrived by ship.
Trails, unspoiled beaches, and museums makes it a perfect Sunday outing. The ocean view alone is worth the trip.

We love the early evenings when the houses start turning their lights on. The boardwalk is positively beautiful for a stroll.

great area to see the ocean and some wildlife... seals are close by and pelican everywhere... the tide pools are my favorite... we saw an octopus and other cool sea life around them.
