My favorite bagel sandwiches and coffee in the area is at Java Bean Espresso. For coffee lovers, this is the place to go in West Seattle and the Alki neighborhood.
The breakfast buffet is fantastic! Fresh fruit, fresh juice, home made bread, omelets, all kinds of cheeses and great lattes.
If you have time to sit down and grab a bite, there are some incredibly talented musicians playing in the airport restaurants. Surprisingly good!
The live music in the lobby is incredible! Also, free wifi and a creative selection of mini bar food. This minimalist hotel allows for a great time.
Play tennis during the day or under the lighted court at night. The court is next to Alki Elementary School.
Real Mexican style tacos, possibly the best in Seattle. The sweet potatoe tacos are unique and delicious.
Tip: the UPC library has some great resources. Earl Palmer's library of talks are avail and they are all pretty amazing:)
Play tennis in the evening (under the lights) at the courts just off Alki Beach, near Whale Tail Park.
One of my favorite spots in the city to catch up with a friend. High booths, comfortable seating and it's not too loud. The breakfast and brunch are amazing--something for everyone.
Grab a cup of coffee while you're here. Maveron has the nicest gourmet Starbucks coffee maker I've seen in any office.
Sometimes it's the little things. This airport has the friendliest TSA and gate agents. :)

If you come early, enjoy some quiet time in the lounge with a great view and access to the steam room.
Sadly, the train at the airport is the most traveled Seattle mass transit. We've voted most every other effective method down in the polls. Enjoy that ride :)
Virgin has plugs between the seats. My laptop stays charged, even on cross country flights. Thanks, Virgin!
Get your camera ready. Some of the best photos in the world were taken up in the air. (A window seat away from the wing is your best choice for views.)
