The most beautiful, moving museum/memorial I have ever been to. The original wallpaper and photos affixed on the wall is heartbreaking.
Great museum. Of all the major museums to visit in Amsterdam, this and Van Gogh were my favorite. Visit Het Grachtenhuis before wandering the canals - you'll see the city in a different light.
Located at the Herengracht canal, this museum is home to applied and fine art collections of Mrs Willet-Holthuysen. Roam around the three floors and see art from the 19th and 19th century.
Small museum about life on hausboat. Its literally in hausboat so look into channel and you can't miss it! It worth it!
Nice audio tour, and the demonstration how the paints were created back in the days was the highlight of the tour. Great to hear the stories..
This is cat ladies and cat lovers only. Its also great if you want to see an interior of a decadent Herengracht canal house. They have 4 live cats roaming around the place too!
Nice exhibition. but the modern part is small so don't expect inspiration for purchases, rather a historic overview. The building is beautiful and the dining place in the middle is nice and quiet.

Entrance entitles you to go next store to Coster Diamonds to actually see them polish and prepare diamonds. Make sure to take a family picture in the wooden shoe before leaving the museum.
Delightfully compact oasis. We had snacks and drinks in the café and then wandered the gardens and greenhouses.
This huge public urban park is the best place to relax and hang out. The open-air theatre holds free concerts. Also don't miss the Netherlands Filmmuseum at the pavilion Vondelparkpaviljoen.
The Sloten Windmill is one of the very few mills in Amsterdam that is open to the public. Still working, this attraction also offers guided tours. Opens at 10 am.

The 'museum' is just one room downstairs. Don't bother with it, but do eat all the free samples and spend your money in the shop as the cheese is amazing. Smoked goat's cheese is unbeatable.
Everything homemade and grown in their own garden. Nothing fancy just honest, organic and authentic food. Tiny place and limited seating. Reservation is a must. Eggs benedict are yum. And those pies!
They do only one type of cookie, but it's by far the best cookie I've ever tasted on my life. Totally worth it. Eat them while still fresh for double awesome

Vleminckx makes the best fries around by far. It’s not a restaurant, but a hole-in-the-wall take away. It’s located in a small alley off major shopping street Kalverstraat.
The service was so friendly! I had the black ravioli stuffed with ricotta and smoked salmon. Delicious! House red is also lovely. Also offer tapas style menu if you want to pick.

Beautiful food and amazing vegan pancakes on the breakfast menu!! Their coffee is also lovely (we got oat milk latte). Definitely on the pricey side but completely worth the visit in my opinion!

When visiting Amsterdam, see some of the many marketplaces. Flowers, cheese, herbs, fresh groceries – there seems to be one market for each item. 11 market places are open all year long. Enjoy!
It's a houseboat that has been transformed into a cat orphanage. worth a visit as it's an amazing place. They look after stray cats and they try and rehome cats that need a new family!:)
