Great for a first date. Also great for a 20th date. It's a respectable wine bar for the neighborhood. Perfect shared meal here: mushroom & truffle oil pizza and quattro stagione salad.
Delicious and decadent Spanish food in a big space. We loved the beet purée with almonds and the porcini mushrooms with bacon. The churros for dessert were brilliant -- great for sharing.

This swing bridge is at the start of the Inland Pack Trail, just off SH6 in Punakaiki near the Pancake Rocks. A fun add-on to a visit to the rocks if you don't have time for a whole tramp.
A truly remarkable sight--the turquoise water!! Be sure to wear lots of bug spray as the sand flies will get you at the end of the short track to river's edge. Plus: a suspension bridge!!
A magical, unique place! It's fascinating to walk 20 meters up, eye level with the native trees of New Zealand. A helpful printed guide & signs along the way teach visitors about the beautiful trees.
A spic & span motel run by an energetic fellow who pedals his bike up the hill to the back cottages. The grounds are beautifully landscapes & units are all set nicely off the road. I loved it here!
