Nice restaurant in an unassuming street near the new harbour. Great ambience and service, lovely terrace at the back, fantastic food and an extensive wine list!
Get a bowl of miso ramen, a side of gyoza or tori karaage (fried chicken) + cold beer OR a gyoza-karaage teishoku... Mmm, makes a lovely meal... finish off w/a cup of pu-erh tea :)
Honestly you may or may not like altbier - lots of people find it tastes rather too sweet to even consider it a beer, of just a lady's beer. The place is interesting and really local, though.
Best, all-you-can-eat sushi I town. You order via iPad and your food arrives within minutes. Make sure to have a reservation to avoid long waits for a table. But even the wait is worth the tasty sushi
One of the best pasta places in düsseldorf. Only beaten by Saitta am Nußbaum in Niederkassel and Saittavini in Oberkassel... Try the Gnudi alla Fiorentina

Gorgeous place to be in the morning. But if you like to be with lot of people then evening time is the best.
Stroll the old town, take a picture of the old city hall and have an "Alt" beer in one of the many bars along Bolkerstraße, the world´s longest bar.
Get a table out the back which is very authentic. It looks like you have to sit on the floor - optical illusion!
A very authentic French bistro/restaurant with delicious food and tasty wines. A lot French people eat here. The owners are very friendly. Try it!

Get a room at the highest floor you can and if possible ask for a corner room on the south side for an amazing view and sunset! The floor to ceiling windows are great!
