Hands down the best ramen in Oakland. The Ramen Shop is over priced and over crowded compared to Sobo. With the addition of a full bar, Sobo is a top 5 shop in the entire bay.
Ok, so, the pizza here is really good. I recommend The 89 Pizza. It's very saucy and meaty. If you're a lover of hearty italian food its for you.
Flavorful beef and lamb shawerma over rice, and a generous portion, too. I'm making this a regular lunch spot.
A delicious array of sausages and craft beer in a well designed space. I had the lamb sausage in a roll with sweet peppers and garlic mayo. The picnic tables in and outdoors are nice. Cash only!
The jerk chicken is great and the oxtail stew is wonderful and so are all of the drinks!

The tandoori chicken is the best item here for the lunch buffet. Everything else is kinda bland.
Not to miss: man about town cocktail, chicken pâté, guilty fries, fried chicken, kale salad. Best desserts are salted caramel ice cream sandwich & sticky toffee pudding made by Pastry Chef Jared Nash!

The pulled pork adobo gets all the love, but peppered turkey or the mozerella tomato sandwich also rock.
This place has all the hallmarks of a good Chinese restaurant: fast, cheap, and good. Best $6 rice plates in the area. Spicy fried tofu is awesome.
Their spicy tan tan men isn't as spicy as other places, but at least their noodles are perfectly al dente.
Their omakase is on point, nigiri is probably one of the better ones in America. Especially at the $65 price point.
Salt and pepper chicken is actually sweet and tastes like waffle battered chicken nuggets. Get yo' CHICKEN AND WAFFLE on!
They make pretty good beef pho here, although I wish they could add banh mi sandwiches to their menu.
Ramen here is excellent - tonkatsu and veggie were both a hit. In terms of small plates, get the hamachi!
The chicken and waffles is their staple. As you work through the tender breast, collect the breaded bits that fall off and deposit them on your waffle with a splash of syrup and you're in heaven
