Under Guildhall you can see part of an amphitheatre built in 70.AD where Gladiators once fought it out to a roaring crowd. In 200.AD popularity increased so the theatre expanded to hold 6000 spectator
A good museum for classical Greek and Roman culture. Best avoid the Rosetta stone though since the room is always full and difficult to navigate.

Excavations in the 1950s at Bastion House revealed a narrow building believed to be the officers quarters within the fort of Roman London. Roman remains are still visible to the east of the museum.

All the tips recommending Brindisa's chorizo sandwich are bang-on. It is amazing. Brave the (invariably very long) queues, it's well worth it. Roast to go also do an awesome pork belly sandwich.
The chorizo rolls are worth queuing up for. Get there before 12.30 and you won't wait too long

Absolutely lovely view from the tea room! Pleasant stuff, tasty desserts. Very nice traditional afternoon tea with scones, jam and clotted cream. You can also buy a tea pack there if you like.
