Found here are the remains of the Colonial wall that was built to protect Lima from 1687 until 1870. This area is very popular with locals on the weekend.

Fantastic atmosphere. Food is good honest French cuisine, very tasty. Run by nuns for charity. Aim to be there around 1430 to hear the Nuns sing at 1500. A positive jewel in the center of Lima. :)
Restored recently, built in 1624, one of the most beautiful colonial churches in Lima from 17th century.

You almost have to be a world class athlete to climb the 300+ steps, but the view is worth all the effort.
Take a taxi/bus to the top of the ruins, explore the upper areas and then hike down. You will appreciate this tip when you see people huffing and puffing as they climb up.
From 0600 till 1000 entrance is free because of the liturgy. You can go in saying that you want to hear the homily. They can't charge you to practice your religion. No cameras or video allow.
