Nick Flores8月 6, 2013Be prepared for extra long lines. Baggage claim for Southwest Air and Airtran is always Baggage Claim carrousel #1 or #2 only.
There are underground tunnels that will get you to baggage claim and/or outside faster than walking through the terminals. Look for the escalators!
Charles Hoffmeyer2月 22, 2017It was a nightmare getting in/out of here. Rental cars are offsite via shuttles. Long walk between terminals via hot underground tunnels. Hope I never have to come into LAX again!
Flying out and parked here? Try putting where you parked as the comment in your check in! You can't lose it!

Madhuri Gupta10月 29, 2013Shuttles pass btw moving planes like it is regular traffic .. to go frm one terminal to another I had to step out and redo security. Old lady trips at the bottom of escalator and humans pile up!
For Terminal 4-American Airlines First Class/EXP check in, drop off is the door closest to the International Terminal (or by Qantas check-in area). This is to avoid having to fight the crowd inside T4
Courtney Brown6月 17, 2013If you get a grilled chicken Caesar salad from the Starbucks in the American Airlines terminal, don't use the flimsy plastic fork to cut the chicken! It will break and make a mess.

Dëva Holik10月 27, 2014Parking can be a pain. Valet is off site. Most terminals need updating. International terminal is almost complete and delta has had a make over. American is working on theirs.

Stephanie Nordstrom9月 30, 2011Don't arrive at the airport too early. It doesn't open till 4am and if you are cutting it close on time, most airlines will help you get through security so you don't miss your flight.
Don't hold up the security line - if you're wearing complicated shoes, there are tons of benches right after security where you can do them up
Parking in Economy Lot C? Give yourself some extra time and prepare for a jam packed ride on the shuttle bus. Central terminal parking is expensive ($30/day), but oh so convenient.

For tourists staying in Santa Monica, save some cash and take the lot C LAX bus to connect to the $1 Big Blue Bus
If flying Virgin America, pop for the Loft. Heaven can be found in an airport.- If you are flying United, you should join TSA's pre-check program first. It allows you to go through security without removing shoes, laptop or liquids. Was a breeze!
K H8月 8, 2012Haven't been here for past few yrs and security have changed a lot but it is not as bad as everyone makes it to be; maybe bc domestic flight? Went thru security at 11am and got thru around 11:15ish.

Jessica Yanow8月 13, 2011If you are on an American airlines express shuttle, you have to take a bus to a separate area with no coffee and only cpk. Get your coffee and snacks before boarding shuttle!
If you're coming in from an international flight in terminal 2, there's a starbucks and a currency exchange booth right next to each other!
If using an Uber, Use the Premium service so you don’t have to trek to the LAX-it station. 🙄- K Ziggy1月 12, 2012The best taxi service is laxtransport.com to get to the airport. They are on time and their website reservation super helpful.
If you have to take a cab anywhere within a 10 minute drive or less of LAX, you can fully expect your cab driver to be very unpleasant to you.
Do not get sidelined by the timeshare people trying to “help” you. Head all the way outside for shuttles and taxis.
If you're departing during the busy holiday season, drop off at Arrivals and take the escalator up.
