Great at any time of the day, coffee is good, the cake selection is amazing (with heart attack inducing portions) and the bar has live music and good selection of beers. If you're in town pay a visit!
Original, comfortable and boutique like hotel. Well located for the metro, chinatown and Clarke Quay.
Stay in the old colonial section feels like another world rather than the modern wing.
Some good eating options on the 5th floor, including Rocket (coffee and simple western food) and Hong Bao (dim sum).
Better than Lijiang but best to hire a bike and head out to the outlying smaller villages. Be sure to call in on Dr Ho in Baisha village.
Amazingly beautiful scenery. Check out midnight sun tours if you want to do some beach camping plus the French restaurants La Salangane and La Plage are well worth seeking out.
Even if you're not an art fan come and check out the amazing building. Great views from the cafe if you can get a seat and the main shop is worth a browse for gifts. Plus it's all free!
Lots of excellent produce and food stalls, check out Monmouth Coffee for a pick me up while you wander round.

Go in the evening where the fairy lights add to the atmosphere rather than during the day. Eat lots safe in the knowledge that your money is going to a good cause!
Pretty but very touristy, hit the side streets away from the big water wheel to find a little peace and quiet.
