Been out walking since 2012 started, and here's where I've been so far and what I've thought... Know any other places near Toms River? Add them!
1. Cattus Island Park
J Geoff Malta 🍸: Perhaps my favorite so far, about 7 miles if you do all 4 trails.
2. Double Trouble State Park
J Geoff Malta 🍸: You can walk this forever it seems, but often off the beaten path. That's not a bad thing.
3. Jakes Branch County Park
J Geoff Malta 🍸: A nice, wooded walk -- but also a nature center/observatory of the Pine Barrens
4. Winding River Park
J Geoff Malta 🍸: Good for biking, too -- almost 5 miles to do the whole thing.
5. Riverwood Park
J Geoff Malta 🍸: Childhood memories here, but not a lot of distance unless you discover the western trail...
6. Camp Albocondo
J Geoff Malta 🍸: Technically closed for business right now, but a nice 4-5 mile trek through the surrounding areas as well. Beware of ticks!
7. Eno's Pond County Park
J Geoff Malta 🍸: A very nice, short walking experience.
8. Island Beach State Park
J Geoff Malta 🍸: Not much of a walking place except on the sanded shore, but that's a decent workout on its own. Saw lots of wild foxes on the roadway in!
