Probably the most delicious meal I’ve had in Reykjavik. Beautiful decor, and I absolutely recommend the lamb tartare with dill and smoked cream cheese (picture). It was absolutely divine.
You can tell how good a place is by the way it keeps the toilets. This place doesn't have toilets, it has works of art.
Traditional Icelandic food in a friendly, cosy bar also popular among the locals. The pick of this place would be the Kjötsúpa - Icelandic meat soup - a hearty bowl of lamb soup with rye bread.

This is the most gorgeous food that I had in #Iceland. Traditional Icelandic recipes cooked by a New York chef it was impeccable. The Virginian bartender made an amazing lemonade and Birch snaps.
Asian-flare tapas that are interesting and delicious! The Alice in Wonderland eggplant was amazing, and the Duck Chopsticks were crunchy and good.
One of the oldest cafes in town, rich with the spirits of lost poets and great minds. The waffles are great and there are art exhibitions on the walls - but no free wifi!
Great Whiskey selection, barkeeps and bouncers are both on point. If you want to just get plain drunk in Reykjavik, this is the spot.
Open-air museum to preserve and show selected old houses, in order to give visitors an opportunity to learn about the architecture and lifestyle of the past.
The last room of the museum (upstairs) has a prop mannequin which can only be described as nightmare fuel. I have included a picture but the full horror can only be experienced in the flesh.

It is for sure worth to walk 3,5 km one way uphill there :-)! Bring towel and swimsuit with you. On the way back, if there will be strong wind, it will dry before you will reach the parking lot.
Walk around the crater and enjoy the view. Walk down into the crater and try the water - it is freezing cold!
This is comparable only to french laundry. Empty your evening and order 7 courses.

Such a unique place! The breads with tomato soup are truly amazing, a little paradise. Definitely talk to the owners and the chef, great people, and they even have horses.
Very cosy and lovely little place. Had the pesto and eggplant pizza and the chef's salad; I kid you not when I say that salad tasted so much better than the pizza. And that pizza was amazing!
The lobster soup is world class good and the minke whale (as well as horse and fish) served on sticks is just over the top — and illegal in many countries. Cosy, quaint ... and plastic cutlery only.
The sour dough bread here is great. Go for a sandwich, don't go for the soup, it's microwaved.
Beautiful location, and *super*-friendly staff! Good selection of local beers and awesome sea dishes. I tried the Langoustine Soup and it was superb. Highly recommended!
Amazing icelander fast food in Höfn: fish and chips, lobster sandwiches, burgers, salads and much more. Just few tables inside. Free coffee after your meal. Viking ALE beer. You should visit this!

Hands down the best food for hours in both directions. The fish and chips and lamb skewers were both super fresh and excellent. Everything is locally sourced and delicious, on par with Reykjavik food.
It's absolutely amazing here. Worth visiting when you are around, for a morning coffee (soo good.) or fantastic dinner by candle light. It's warm and cozy, and the ambience is great.

Best grocer in town. Good meat and fish counter with varied offerings from around the country's best farmers, just ask how it is farmed.

The beer here is fantastic, but be prepared to pay a small fortune for it. A "large" glass (certainly smaller than a pint) will run you £7 or nearly $14. Ouch!
Both the lamb and shellfish soup are great! The lamb is very tender, and the shellfish soup is full of prawns and scallops… and you get 1 refill for free!
A lovely, low-lit, homey little oasis off the main shopping street. The owner is extremely friendly, the food is good, and they brew a mean cappuccino. Also, free wifi!
A fun collection of wine bars, food and restaurants. There are shared benches so everyone can get something different. Recommendation: Glass of wine at Kröst.
