All you can eat buffet right on 17 (just off 95). Fresh, homemade stuff. Does a great job with anything fried: chicken, okra, cracklins, potato chips, hush puppies

Fun, very crowded dance parties on the weekend. Low key dive bar during the week
The world's best fried chicken. Also, butter beans and corn bread. Dooky Chase's chicken isn't even in the same universe
Surprisingly good food ($.25 martinis, turtle soup, gumbo, Oyster Gratinée, Creole Cochon de Lait “Cassoulet,” duckfat potatoes), but go to Galatoire's for atmosphere
BBQ shrimp po boy is more of a fork-and-knife affair than a sandwich, but well worth the effort
Skip the food (unless you're around for a drag brunch on select Saturdays) and pony up $15 ($10 on weekdays) for all day admission to the pool / hot tub in the backyard
The Friday lunch is one of the best dining experiences anywhere. Arrive at 11:30 to get a table in the downstairs dining room
The breakfast move is their amazing omelette, the sausage with lentils, and and the home fried potatoes with fried eggs and bacon. Charcuterie is good but not essential
