The absolute best burger baskets in town regardless of price, and bo james is very inexpensive. Older crowd during bar hours but still a great place to hang out and watch the game.
Thursday nights are mug nights, obviously. But utilize it. And utilize it well.
The steins are awesome. Usually a lot of beer for a really cheap price. Great place to watch sports or go to F.A.C. (try the fish bowl).
Don’t be shy to ask for a shamrock in the head of your Guinness. This place is a real taste of Ireland.

Great place to see live shows. A lot of great bands and DJ's. Open mic night on Wednesdays a lot of fun if you or your friends play an instrument.
Great venue for groups of friends, especially great deals on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Martinis. Fun place to be, tip the pianist - and don't be the 100th person to request "Piano Man" that night :)
Great hole in the wall bar. Excellent if you want to avoid the crazy downtown scene.
Get the Bufala Negra cocktail. No really. Do it.This bar has a fantastic beer selection and great atmosphere just off the beaten path. Don't miss it.

Local Iowa Beers, and all the beef comes from local Iowa Farms! The hand cut fries are delicious, esp with the "Short's Sauce"! Get the "Dundee" it's amazing!
Great staff, good food, and AWESOME shows of all kinds. It's just off the Ped Mall and the people are cool even if a few too many of them are sipping PBRs.

A fun bar to be at but can be over crowded at times. Other than that this bar is great after a hawkeye football victory. Younger crowd at bar hours here.
Live music located upstairs with a nice high stage in a large room, BUT it still has a small venue feel. Be prepared to get hot and sweaty during the summertime!
