This is a peaceful trail, densely wooded on the way up, plus a secret crumbling hotel being overtaken by the forest. You can see all the way to Albany from the summit. Bring snacks & relax at the top.
modern day NY ruins! So cool to see the shell of the old hotel still standing. FYI beware of the 2 mile fully uphill hike!! This is definitely not for beginners. Worth it when you get there though!
Make sure you walk the grounds, which are absolutely beautiful. There are many hidden treasures along the trails to discover.
Spectacular baked breads from a 17-ton Munoz oven, imported in pieces from France and reassembled by French masons in an old carriage house behind the cafe. Literally.
Ask Rachel at the bar for a frozen drink or mojito, they are great and she loves to make them!
A few things to note: it's BYOB (liquor store very nearby), no cell service (free WiFi in rooms), they allow little kids (sucks when by the pool) and no AC in rooms (industrial ceiling fans help).
