Gene Soo: Doesn't seem as busy as the Tokyo one but still same quality. Fluffy pancakes, you can't go wrong here.

Gene Soo: A small neighborhood stand-up restaurant. People are allowed to smoke indoor here but if you are looking to hang out with local and check out what they eat, definitely give this place a try. Yummy!

Gene Soo: If you like cocktails, this is a MUST try. Very reasonably priced for the quality. Amazing selection of gin!

Gene Soo: A classic japanese bar with an amazing mixologist. There's no menu, just order anything you want to drink. Selection of liqour available is massive! Try the kumquat moscow mule!

Gene Soo: The most amazing egg sandwich you will ever try you will find here. The napoleon spaghetti is also out of this world. But make sure you call to reserve.

Gene Soo: Come here for a meal and check out Ginkaku-jin in the same trip. Fantastic udon with very fresh ingredient. Vegetarian friendly.

Gene Soo: Bread specialist. Just buy a loaf, take a bite and you'll be amazed.

Gene Soo: Unagi with rice you have never tasted before. Here they charbroil the rice and the unagi. It takes like 40 minutes before you get to eat but it's all worth it!

Gene Soo: Amazing pancakes and apple pies. I love the plain pancake set and definitely try the Big Apple Pie with ice cream.

Gene Soo: My favorite yakitori place in Kyoto. Very good quality and it's amazingly good value too. Make sure you reserve in advance, they only take reservations between 3pm-5pm.

Gene Soo: Be Smart and only order their French Toast with coffee and avoid the French Toast. 😏

Gene Soo: Must try stand-up izakaya. I enjoyed all their dishes here. Rice with raw egg is a highlight!

Gene Soo: Very high quality pork and al dente ramen. I like the black soup base but the other ones taste great as well. Rice with charred pork is also super yummy!

Gene Soo: Supposedly this guy invented Omu-Rice (Omelette rice) and it definitely seems like it given his skill and how perfectly he cookes the dish. Better make reservation in advance for this place.

Gene Soo: A friend told me "She ate here and the feeling is like "died and gone to heaven"". It's true. This is not a tempura restaurant but they do have a tempura dish. Must try in Kyoto experience heaven!

Gene Soo: The best tsukemen I have ever tried in the world. Get all the ingredients and go with citrus noodle.

Gene Soo: A fun stand-up bar with yummy and cheap dishes. Order by pointing to photos in this app if you don't speak japanese.
