Surprisingly comprehensive collection of both contemporary and historic works. Great sculpture collection. Located right off the Palm Springs strip, which makes walking to dinner afterwards a cinch.
When it was built in 1947, there were no buildings anywhere nearby with the exception of a small landing strip where celebrities could land & grab a few cocktails.
Recommend taking a tour with one of the docents...Also, you can take helicopter tours through the air museum.

My favorite restaurant in the desert for dinner- love the menu and can always find something fabulous to eat there. The hand crafted drinks are fun and delicious and the space is fabulous.
