Best hostel. Ever. Young, hip & pretty much self-contained (bar, restaurant, hair salon, laundry are all inside), and overlooking the water!! I'll never stay anywhere else in this city.
Such a beautiful lake and you can hike around the entire perimeter as well as down to the water's edge. Modest entrance fee can be paid in kronur, Euros, or US dollars.
Quite a stunning church. Make sure to go up to the top of the tower to see great views of Reykjavik!

It's absolutely amazing here. Worth visiting when you are around, for a morning coffee (soo good.) or fantastic dinner by candle light. It's warm and cozy, and the ambience is great.

An amazingly fresh addition to the flora of hipster hot spots in 101 Reykjavik. The food is good, the price is fair and the atmosphere is great!
Locally grown meat, straight from our farmers. The Icelandic Lamb is out of this world, you can taste the blueberries and arctic thyme that they eat during their outdoor life in the wilderness.
Crowded so be ready to wait till you get to the bar for drinks. Oh yeah lots of drunk people will be pushing you, but that's what you get visiting Icelandic bars! Cheers!

Magical place to visit. Check out the water with all the coins from the ages between the continents. Also the main path along the "wall" leads to a waterfall to the right if you're facing it.
Definitely take the path behind the waterfall – exhilarating! Expect to get wet. Start from the right – a little easier climb. And be careful: The whole path can get pretty slippery.
The walk to the lookout is totally worth it. Its a steep climb but take breaks. Walk past the look out upstream for another mini waterfall view.
If they have a sign up saying that the walkway to the falls is closed, consider ignoring it and going anyway. We were thankful we did - you have to walk up to get the best photos.
Everything here is farm to table fresh. The hamburgers are delicious and are great quality!
This is a natural geothermal spa. I come here regularly to do the traditionally bath since the settlement of Iceland. After the bath, I enjoy the smoked trout with the home made bread.
If you want to get landscape photos without all sorts of tourists in the way... be sure to get there early and/or late.

Saw an evening performance of music & philosophy combined into an amazing thoughtful work of art.
I took a guided tour where we walked on the glacier for about 2 hours during winter time. On a clear day the views are amazing and you might even encounter small ice caves and arctic foxes.
The house burger is INCREDIBLE! Also grab a piece of Skyr cake. Service is a little slow.
