Have (cheap) happy hour drinks & appetizers in the bar before you move to the dining room. Turtle soup, salad, redfish, bananas foster. Yum!
Construction ongoing, but nearing completion. The City finally spent some tax dollars on something I actually use. The trails are a magnet for people and dogs. Two dog parks separating large/small.
Lunch on the patio w/ the dogs. The Turkey sandwich (slabs of roasted turkey w/ thick sliced bacon on Texas toast) was surprisingly really good.
Lunch special: pick 2 w/ a drink = $11. Turkey & Swiss, with pasta side and black currant iced tea.
Another Johnny Carrabbas restaurant right by the Kirby location. A little more upscale. Menus overlap, and you can still get whatever is on the Carrabbas menu at Graces. Good food and wine. 👍
Good place all around. Good food - desserts and coffee for sure - but plenty other food items on the menu worth having. Great place for a date if you want to talk.
Good food - cheap - and fast - but no f-ing parking. Always lots of UT fans. Hook 'em. But head to the Heights location instead.
Good breakfasts and lunch. A little expensive. Love the eggs and fresh bread. The tomato basil soup is excellent and you can buy jars to heat up at home. This location is small with limited seating.
Plenty of beverage choices in addition to coffee. Several fast breakfast or lunch options to go. Service is ~ok. Lots of staff turnover. Has a busy drive thru I've never used. Easy walking distance.
Good gym for value. Lots of cardio, free weights and machines. Classes no extra charge with good instructors. The men's locker room needs updating.
Good Chinese. Best for takeout or delivery. (Or eat at the Doghouse Tavern next door). Delivery is fast, and food packed well; stays hot.
Best meal I've ever had in my life, bar none. Over 1 dozen (small) courses that just kept coming. Sacrilegious, ordered French wine while in Napa, but awesome. You need reservations well in advance.
Roasted chicken w/ potatoes and Greek salad. The best part: dessert; Athenian mud pie tonight. Always busy. Expanded Greek wine selection. Have a glass waiting for order to go.
Great place for breakfast. A dive, small, and usually busy with a wait, but excellent food. Another good one within walking distance.
Prime rib is excellent but I gave up beef for Lent. Good wine selection with 1/2 price bottles on Mondays. Lots of sports memorabilia on the walls - all for sale at inflated prices.
Good food; large portions. Come hungry, but it's too busy to linger over coffee. After ordering at the counter people will hover over you pressuring you to leave to get your table.
Chicken is great. Red beans and rice too. Easy walking distance from UH's main campus. I used to come here often during graduate school.
Baked goat cheese platter with a Pinot Grigio. And Thursday is ladies night - $1 home made sangria.
Decent burgers but not a very inviting place to eat. Service is hit/miss. I usually get the food to go.
Substituted veal for chicken parmigiana. Awesome. Adaptation 2018 Napa Cab. Always sit at the bar.
Great mud bugs. A little over priced, but good quality food. When it's busy it can get a little crowded sitting at the communal picnic tables.
