Built in 1924, this was originally a grand movie palace. It would later be converted into housing for the U.S. Navy during World War II. It was designated a historic site in 1972 and restored in 2005.
Also in La Jolla, this museum changes their exhibit often and the best part is that students and anyone under 25 get in completely free.
Placed in reserve in 1835, this is one of the oldest sites in the U.S. dedicated to public recreational usage. It is named after the Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa.
