visit the crypta,great wall paintings.also don't miss the 'kreuzgang' (outside court with nice view on the rhine river).
The Kunsthalle Bar is great. They have a very nice "Fumoir" and a great Spritz Veneziano.

St. Jakob Park or "Joggeli" is the largest football venue in Switzerland and home to FC Basel.
2 for 1 meals on Monday. Try the fish and chips. Wednesday get a free pint with your meal. Fridays a free half bottle of wine with 2 meals. The food has really improved of the last couple of years
the whole street is a hotspot for going out in basel. entertainment, food, drinks and cosy places. living outside during summertime.

If you can, avoid the mens restroom by the tramstop. Often filled with creepy guys. Ugh.
Best place to be in Basel - Bookshop, free WiFi, a lot of coffee experiments (try Chai Latte or Espresso Masala) and Bagels. Cultural events as well. Ping pong table! Staff is always in a good mood.

Wonderful place, be sure to check the time of the shows as they are short. I was very impressed by the cleanliness, the reminders about noise and feeding. Definitely a haven für Tiere =)
