Nice to stay at a Grande style old hotel in the downtown area. The place obviously has some history but nice to see they keep it up. Great place to stay for the annual Erie fastpitch tournament.
A block away from Jekyll & Hyde's Gastropub (46 drafts on tap) and a block from arena where Erie Otters play. Some rooms renovated, others not. Breakfast- go to Jo's bagel shop 2miles away.
My room (a superior double) and the lobby were nice, but the staff service was subpar, parking is crowded, and I had the pleasure of meeting some men with semi-automatic assault rifles at the elevator
They may be trying to make a come back, but advertising as a luxuryhotel when you are not is sad. List of things that do not work or simply missing from a quality stay is lengthy.
It's a worst place ever. I swear, I found a mouse in my room. I thought I was confused, but in the next day I saw it around my bed."It impossible we are in sewer"!!! Is that a hotel???

This is probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. Half the stuff in the room doesn't work, the tub is rusty and doesn't drain well, and the parkinggarage was terrible.
The Avalon Hotel & Conference Center is, without exception, a luxurious conference quality hotel. Enjoy endless amounts of activities very close to the hotel!
