In my opinion, best museum in DC. They have an excellent collection of both well known and unheard of contemporary artists and the architecture of the building really adds to the overall experience.
The courtyard is the best place to feel like you're outside without being outside. Nice light, great place to bring your lunch.
Had a great collection of Modern Art (Well Impressionism,Post-Impressionism,Cubism)
Beautiful campus with legendary people watching opportunities. Hang out under one of the big Oak trees near Healy Hall for the best views.
President Roosevelt asked the Commission of Fine Arts about the possibility of erecting a memorial to Thomas Jefferson. Construction went from 1938-43, & Roosevelt laid the first cornerstone himself.
