If you don't have reservations, try the Tavern downstairs. The Southern Sushi is must, don't let the word "sushi" scare you off, it's delicious! And get some oysters on your salad!
When the City Market restaurants are crowded, grab some pizza slices from Vinnie Van GoGo's and eat in the Square. Perfect picnic!
Savannah has some free transportation options. I used the ferry. Just saw a dot stop outside the market.
