Our room DOES have a modern Samsung flat screen TV. The hotel does show it's age but the room seems clean and the public spaces are nice. Not bad for $46 on Priceline.com
While the internet is $9.95 a night, my Duke research trial covers the cost and includes room service. If in a research trial, ask the front desk about included amenities with your stay.
At first when you walk into the lobby you think old money not a bad place but by the time you get to your hotel room you realize this place is just old & looks like I stepped into1982.
Good location, very close to interstates and cool spots in durham. The hotel is very old, rooms aren't updated and it definite needs some work. If you have health issues w mold etc, stay away
Awesome lobby but quite a deceiving impression. My room has a strong odor, extremely old and broken down furniture. Drawers are broken, air conditioner extremely weak. And did I mention the smell?
It's old, smelly, and dirty. The room I stayed in had stuff left under the bed and it smelled like smoke and another unknown substance. It would be in your best interest to stay somewhere else!
No cell service, costly internet, old tube TVs, in-room phones don't work, wallpaper is peeling off, smells of weed, dusty, bartender can't mix drinks... Tell me this isn't a Chevy Chase movie.
This place is pretty awful. No Internet (unless you wanna pay $9.95 a day). The water was super low, couldn't even take a proper shower. And the place smells! Horrible place!!
