A very attractivepalace and home to the boss. If you're looking to watch the changing of the guard (of course you are): be sure to get there early, it can get very busy! It's a wonderful experience.
Well worth a visit when in town. The guided tour gets you access to the representation rooms, the royal treasury and the old historic museum underneath the palace; a trip through hundred years of time
During summer time, visit just after opening or just before closure, to avoid crowds. Tends to get very warm so be sure to have had something to drink before entering (no AC in the 1600s). Enjoy!
Been to lots of royal palaces but this one really stuck out. Quite impressive. Intricate ceilings in many rooms, beautiful parquet floors, and some really wonderful portraits. Worth the trip. 👍🏽
Обязательный к посещению музей, вход для студентов 80 крон (кстати студент ты или нет даже не проверяют), билет включает в себя 3 музея - королевские аппартменты, музей tre kronor и the treasury
There's a lot to see in this palace. It does not mean everything is worth though. But there are a few art masterpieces that make the visit a must do. Don't forget to watch the ceilings.
A Changing of Guards ceremony takes place daily at 12.15 pm from April to August. Duration will approximately be 40 minutes. Make sure to get there early (11.45?) to get a good spot.
Interesting place to visit for history buffs but may come off as underwhelming compared to other European palaces. Crown Jewels do not begin to compare to those in the UK.
The Royal Palace of Stockholm is the working residence of Sweden's monarch and the Royal Family. Parts of it is open to visitors year round, sometimes venues are closed for royal representation.
The interiors somehow remind IKEA with addition of baroque and gold. Fairly basic, apart from really nice Queen Kristina's silver throne in Hall of States - the most famous treasure of the castle.
The Kungliga Slottet (0046 8 402 6130; royalcourt.se, £14) is one of the few European palaces permanently open to the public. Make for the unostentatious Royal Apartments.
Pay attention: in one of the last rooms of Bernardotte's Apartments, you can see Francesco Botticini's "Portrait of a Boy" and "Madonna and Child" by Piero di Cosimo.
