Some places I recommend, in no particular order. Context is everything and things change over time, so please have a look at the place reviews to make sure it is what you are looking for
Nick: When the weather is nice, the beer garden is the obvious choice – same quality of food, but a better atmosphere and lower prices. Check it out: http://www.partyearth.com/berlin/prater-garten
FrauLea: You can either go to the restaurant section an have a delicious meal or go to the "fast food" section and order ie pita gyros instead just another Döner or Falafel. I love both!
Katty Katz: It's a big park with an amazing lake. There's playground for kids and it's also perfect for cooper, cycling or just a nice walking alone, with friends or the dog. And besides, it's very pretty!
Pepe Treviño: The one thing I can recommend NOT to order is the "Chilaquiles Endiablados" unless you've lost sensitive innervation in your tongue & mouth. Many beggars if you sit outside. Gotta totally come back.
Corey Jay Horn: The architecture is incredible - you are walking through piece of art. The exhibits are also great, focusing not only on the Holocaust, but on all aspects of Jewish history in the region. Must see.
Phat Buoy: Excellent. A lot of time required to read everything. During the “Third Reich” this was the location of the headquarters of the Secret State Police, the SS and the Reich Security Main Office.
Phat Buoy: Chain restaurant. Very odd approach to self service. Would be better adopting the Nandos philosophy. Good value mid range italian fare. Tables come with chili oil and fresh basil plant - nice touch
Martin Mitchell: Just slabs of concrete but the place carries such an emotional and historical weight it's incredibly eerie! Go see at sunset as the shadows stretch and add to the atmosphere.
Carsten: Has earned its reputation for excellent cocktails through almost two decades of great service. Over 150 cocktails on the menu. Place is rather small, so don't show up in large groups, or call ahead.
Alper Çuğun: The place to go for your San Francisco Mexican food craving in this part of Berlin. I like almost all of their food, but I'm a taco guy. The wall painting of the Mission brings back a lot of memories.
Esra Erden Ozkan: Very warm atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food especially fresh fish and pasta. Book a table in advance it is very busy. One of the best Italian Restaurant in Berlin.
Frau Coco Lores: Try and smell food-lovers paradise! German specialities, Cheese, Desserts&so many more delicacies from our planet. Stop by at the stations, have a seat & a fine glass of Champagne&some fresh oysters!
Mario Barraja: It is a traditional coffee place, their cakes are good, coffee is good and overpriced, service is slow, the type of place where well off bourgeois mamas and grandmas go to, what you expect ? Is west!
Hotel Indigo: Begun in 1891, all that remains of the original church after it was bombed in 1943 is the old tower, the “Hollow Tooth.” The new church comprises four buildings in addition to the tower.
Matthias: It's one of the pricier options in Berlin but it comes with high quality food & great service! It's also a really good location for a date. Some menu options need ordering a couple days in advance.
Juanvi Jativa: Great outdoors place to spend a few hours with kids. Lots of space to walk, small farms, a few animals and a couple of little corners to play or have some food
MG Böhler: Very cozy and amazing cafe in charlottenburg. Feels like being at grandma's place. The staff is super friendly. Live Piano music the best cake ever and a heidi coffee. 👌👌
Simónir G: A blend of abandoned railway architecture/technology and nature. Here it is nature that is slowly taking over. A great place for a peaceful, secluded walk close to the centre of Berlin.
Anna Suding: Authentic Panasian restaurant. It has a rather unique style. The dishes are delicious and decoratively arranged. Try the Ped Lauch Deng if you appreciate a fabulous Asian duck dish!
Frau Coco Lores: This charming "Kiez" in the heart of Charlottenburg hasn't lost its beauty. Nice little Cafés, good&affordable restaurants&bars with outside seatings everywhere. As well a small Park to chill&relax.
Re Ne: Total authentisch, grandioses Essen. Service ist schnell und freundlich. Portionen sehr groß, also Hunger mitbringen.
Christoph Hahn: This place, while sporting a somewhat rustic look on the inside, offers unarguably one of the best Chinese dishes in town. Even during the week the kitchen is open until 1AM. Try the Kung Pao Chicken!
Ina Li: Come for the most beautiful sunset on top of the hill. Now is not so much of a secret abandoned place but more of a ticket-charging touristic site. 7 euros for entrance
Ilias Chantzakos: Germany's historic federal parliament, beautifully restored in the 90's with the modern dome on top. Free reservation required a few weeks ahead to visit the interior and the dome. Romantic at sunset.
Lauma Z: It's a MUST visit - the view from the top is amazing and together with the audio guide it is also a good history lesson. Be sure though to make an online reservation, as you can't get in otherwise.
Banu Dnzr: Don't leave without trying the delicious schnitzel here. Their apfel strudel is also tasty. The service is fast and the prices are medium for a nice meal
Phat Buoy: gateway to Museum Island in central Berlin on the banks of the River Spree and surrounded by two of Berlin's architectural jewels, the Altes Museum and Berliner Dom. Sit here and contemplate history
Emma Wijninga: Entrance is €7, which is a lot, but still worth it. Beautiful place of worship, make sure to walk up to the top of the dome, for a great panoramic view over Berlin.
Berliner: Very nice beer menu! Impressive! But you can also find cheap beers like Berliner. Nachos for snacks. Go early if it is a friday or saturday, usually gets full very early. Jazz on thursdays (not sure).
Martin S.: The historic district in Berlin. Check for restaurants, souvenirs and living history. St. Nicholas Church is a must. Oldest building in town!
Martin Jordan: True Italian dishes, different every week. My Italian colleagues approved it and go there various times per week. Excellent variants of pasta, lasagna, and salads, too.
Jessie Ruth G: Hidden, scenic, good music, beer, and great pizza. The best part about this bar is you won't know there's a bar in this address unless someone tells you there is. Definitely on the top of my list :)
Nin L.: Great pork schnitzel and potato salad! Really chilled, laid back cafe-bar vibes. No wifi (although you can get half hr free from Vodafone in the vicinity)
Jose Lito: Personal atento. 13€
Ginevra Villa: A piece of real Japan not only for the excellent food but also for the spot. If you like ramen, you can't miss this place. One of the best Japanese restaurant ever tasted outside Japan
Asia Oparcik: Great food and service - guys are super nice and friendly. Amazing hummus, spiced yogurt and falafel. Food comes super quick and every plate look very tasty. Try cardamon coffee - strong and sweet.
Chirantan Rajhans: Red black honey girl! Smoky, sweetishly spiced, deliciously marinated sliced beef on top of tender sweet potato that cuts through like how a sharp knife cuts through soft butter.
Ina Li: One of the most hip food places in Berlin serving authentic Korean bbq. Come in 2-4 people and try their marinated beef and pork belly. Wrap some meat, rice, kimchi and sauce in lettuce
Lena Frank: Vegan's paradise! Delicious and creative dishes, great service and good wines! Perfect location if you want to surprise your vegan friend with a fancy dinner. Go for the lava cake for dessert! ❤️
Matthias: I'd put this restaurant rather on an upper scale price wise but if we ignore the price, this is a really good place. Great for dates! And I highly recommend the short ribs! Such good meat!! 😍😉
Amine B: Real Italian food in the middle of Berlin. You should try the truffle and parmesan tagliatelle or take a look at their enormous pizza list. Slow service though, but worth it.
Cody Griggers: A little slice of Cali-mex heaven. Carnitas are perfect, with adobo beef a close second--great on quesadillas or burritos. Guac is top-notch and love the salsa crudo (peanut one a bit weird and Asian)
Jonas Kinet: Line up for a drink on street food Thursdays or get yourself some bottles to enjoy at home: it's all good. Whatever these guys have been up to in their cellar, it's been good from the start
Piotr S.: Very Berlinish place in my opinion. During good weather, looks like all day students openair party-random street artists are giving a show or playing music, others are grilling and drinking beer.
Michael Holdsworth: Wonderful street art and graffiti on a stretch of the Berlin wall. Make sure you give yourself a good few hours to take it all in! A scenic part of town as well, great looking across the water.
Varun Kapoor: Coming from Singapore, I didn't expect much from Asian food in Berlin in general but was blown away by this place literally on our first night. Small menu but very well put together, good cheap wine!
Ieva G: An impressive memorial and an important piece of recent history of Berlin. Huge and so out of time/place. Off the beaten tourist track, but definitely worth seeing.
Danielle Rdz: This is a very friendly atmospheric bar down a quiet street of Berlin. The food was outstanding and exactly what we were looking for. We had starter main and dessert - all very yummy. Would go again!!
Fabio De Donno: Great ice cream! One of the better places in Berlin. Be warned line ups on sunny days but the line moves fast. If in the mood for ice cream and in the neighborhood makes sure to make a stop here!
Damian Tylczyński: Authentic bar with own brewed beer. Dunkel is a must, give a shot the special ones, changing very often. Unbelievable quality of beer to price ratio. Small and crowdy, so be sooner than later.
Pebbles D. Lim: Undiscovered/ easy to miss beer garden that's right next to Club der Visionair & Badeschiff. Super chilled with old couches thrown sparsely along with DIY wooden sculptures. Good for casual catch up.
AmateurConcierge: Knock knock! This speakeasy has a Prohibition era vibe, no menu and great hip hop playing. Delicious drinks offer a new twist on classic cocktails. Good place for a quiet chat with friends
Leo Z.: Delicious Russian cuisine tasting like your mom cooked! Start with Borsch, continue with Pelmeni and finish with some Vodka. PS if you're up for wine, go for Georgian one!
Phil Langer: Actually a pretty good location with very friendly staff. A playground is right next to it so its popular with families. For some reason the place is lacking atmosphere though
Markus Yli-Honkola: A nice small island where you can spot some peacocks, water buffalos, different chicken and maybe even some deer. The trails in the nature are pretty nice, a good place for a day trip.
Piotr S.: You can feel here thrill of divided Berlin and touch of nazi's horror,as gestapo building was standing here at the time when Hitler ruled Germany.Occasionally this place hosts historical exhibitions.
W: History comes alive at this place! So many things to see and read about that you need to set aside enough time to go through the whole area. Visit in the evening when the temperature is lower.
Nice restaurant with really good food, a mix of Asian and Mediterranean dishes that I found interesting. Friendly staff and great cocktails too. No credit cards accepted.
kate k: Inside the Almond, Nut and Caramel Symphony (caramel mousse with almonds and nuts in caramel creme on a sponge cake covered in chocolate) - at the Schokoladen Cafe
Shaileshwori Sharma: It's a beautiful monument best seen during a clear day. The gold statue against a blue backdrop is remarkable. Tip: don't try to cross the road from above, there are underground passes from all sides.
Julie L.K.: Knowledgeable, fun and interesting place for people from all different ages to visit! Old building, new building, extension building...you can spend many hours there exploring! 😃✌🏻❤️
Zita Patkos: If you want to enjoy probably the most amazing view Berlin has to offer, you have to go into Grunewald and visit the spectacular Grunewaldturm, a tower that reaches 55 meters high.
Vlad the Impaler: Great burgers. If you are walking near the East Side Gallery, then you can go here and eat burgers and have a beer. Highly recommend.
