The Orange One: This is the first of the two DLR Crossings - between King George V and Woolwich Arsenal. Not much to see, really, but certainly the fastest way!!

Martin Lee: What a great way to cross the river. Hilarious the way it majestically spins across the thames. And it’s free too!

O S: Wouldn't say it's worth the money but it's nice to do at least once I think. Oyster card owners get a discount! Can also couple it with a river boat trip for around £20

LisasShare: Ignore the great body of the Thames hurtling over your head and enjoy a ten minute walk from one bank to another. Entrances at Island Gardens DLR station and Greenwich pier.

The Orange One: This is advertised on Thames Clippers' website. Takes you from the Hilton Docklands Hotel to Canary Wharf. Free travel if you're staying at the hotel; otherwise, stump up the cash!! Scenic, though.

The Orange One: Go in a car. If you go through on a bike or on foot (both are possible), you will die from fumigation. Takes you from Rotherhithe to Limehouse.

The Orange One: Railway history here. Brunel's Thames Tunnel now carries the London Overground between Wapping and Rotherhithe, but has a long history. Also pop into the Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe.

The Orange One: This is the first of two Northern Line crossings, between Bank and London Bridge. Nothing to see. It's crowded. It's stuffy. It's over 100 years old. It's popular.

Valkyriae Sylvanas: History buffs - watch the surface of the water when the tide is going out. Swirls and eddies show the location of the old London Bridge foundations below water.

The Orange One: Cannon Street Railway Bridge takes trains in and out of Cannon Street Mainline Station. Just like any other bridge; look out of the window from a train. Still nice!

Cruvinel ARC: This bridge was open in 1819,the west & bridge view is amazing!

New York Habitat: Take a stroll down this bridge and be sure to stop halfway to take a picture of the view- St Paul’s Cathedral at the end of the bridge looks great contrasted with the modern bridge supports.

Chris Haines: Great for interesting and scenic views of London. A huge brick to walk across, and plenty of fresh air.

The Orange One: Let's all cross the river from Waterloo to Bank, then!!

Gary Jacobs: Stand on Waterloo bridge facing the north side of the Thames and just soak up the amazing views of London, taking in the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, through all the wonderful architecture on view.

Flave: Like many Londoners you'll walk across the same bridge over and over before realising there's one on the opposite side of the train bridge!

HISTORY UK: Lambeth Bridge is painted red, the same colour as the seats in the House of Lords, which it is nearer to. Likewise neighbouring Westminster Bridge is painted green, the colour of the Commons.

David Smith: The bridge between Vauxhall and Pimlico. You can see MI6 as you walk across. Nice scenic views in the summer. Plenty of boats pass under the bridge too.

The Orange One: The Victoria Line crosses the river between Pimlico and Vauxhall. It's a rather new crossing (though not as new as the Jubilee) - very little character, but it's fast.

HISTORY UK: This crossing has the distinction of being London’s ‘least remarkable bridge’! It retains the pale blue colour scheme it had when it opened 1940, as camouflage against German air attack.

The Orange One: This bridge carries the District Line between Putney Bridge and East Putney. It's also a footbridge in its spare time!!

HISTORY UK: There were no bridges across the river between London Bridge and Kingston until one was built here at Putney in 1729, so ferries, water-taxis and lightermen did a thriving trade.

Dug Tremellen: Immediate area is great for walks along the Thames. The pubs lining the embankment on the Hammersmith side are great for an escapist pint

The Orange One: Carries the South West Trains Hounslow Loop between Barnes Bridge and Chiswick. Also a footbridge in its spare time. Great views towards Hammersmith!!

The Orange One: Carries the A316 trunk road southwest from Hogarth Roundabout. It's got one heck of an approach ramp!!

The Orange One: Carries the District Line and London Overground between Gunnersbury and Kew Gardens. The Thames round here is really peaceful as you will see!!

Alastair Hilton: Great looking Bridge. Incredibly busy traffic. Lovely views along the river.

HISTORY UK: This is the furthest downstream lock on the Thames, built in 1894 to ensure the river upstream retains a depth of at least 1.72 metres, and so is safe for boats and barges.

Plastic Pig: Good views up to Richmond Hill and down to Richmond lock.

The Orange One: This bridge carries the South West Trains Windsor Line between Richmond and St. Margarets. Great views, a bit too brief though.

Flave: Don't be a square like the locals - walk the bridge, the bus fare isn't worth wasting your cash on. You'll miss the view and the fresh air.

Mark Wing: Very friendly service and an excellent way to quickly get across the river... if it is running !! For a small charge they will take bikes and pets too ;-)

The Orange One: A bridge of two halves!! The lock at Teddington is the most important on the Thames as it marks the boundary of tidal Thames.

The Orange One: This bridge carries the South West Trains Kingston Loop between Kingston and Hampton Wick Stations. Thames is beautiful, crossing is all too swift.

Alis: A very nice place to sit underneath to watch the river.

The Orange One: Taking you between Hampton Court Station and Hampton Court Palace, this bridge is the last road crossing for a while!!
