Amazing on the inside. If you're an atheist and don't want to be giving cash to the religion, the entrance fee goes to maintaining it as a historical site. The guided tours are fun and are worth it.
Beautiful church inside and out - definitely a must to see. Compared to all of the decorative churches from around Europe. Always a queue but it moves fast. Landmarkscenic
Undercroft refurb is well worth a visit and is included in general admission. Great views from the top of the tower (up 280+ steps) although it's an extra £5 on the standard admission price.
Вход 10£. Вход и подъем на башню - 15£. Платный вход внутрь собора - это чересчур. Понятно в подземелье, понятно на башню, но просто 10£ за вход внутрь с человека...
One of the most beautiful gothic cathedrals in the world. The best way to appreciate it is to come to Mass or Choral Evensong - just ask the guides for times.
Beautiful cathedral inside and out, made out of limestone. Second largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe apparently. Stain glass windows are breath taking. Also don't miss The Kings Screen
The Police Roll of Honour Trust Board of Trustees were here for National Police Memorial Day 2012. The Minster is incredible and an amazing setting for our national tribute to our fallen.
Years I been back and too. To York Minster I got some very old images I took of the 1984 fire when lightening hit the roof. It was sad to see all the damage done that day. Well worth money to view it
The tour (with David) was worth having for some background on the architecture and the idiosyncrasies of the minster. Look out for the recent bosses on the ceiling, including one of Neil Armstrong!
After the Minster, check out the church next door - St Michael le Belfrey - built originally as a chapel for the Minster builders. It's free entry and still a functioning church - lovely atmosphere.
